(two porcelain objects)
Material and technics: French porcelain, technique of pouring porcelain into plaster molds burned in electric oven on 1280°C
Dimensions: 2x (8 x 10 cm, volume 150 ml)
“My souvenir for the city of Martin and Turiec is inspired by traditional cross stitched embroidery on men’s shirts in this region. I used the transcription of cross stitched embroidery as a plastic decor on coffee cups. The transcription is on lower part, on rim cup or ear cup, because its seems like shirt collar. I have fixed such a wonderful ephemeral tradition into strong, unchanging, noble material – porcelain. The textile material is degrading and the tradition of embroidery is disappearing, but thanks to porcelain it will be here forever… .”
Thanks to Nina A. Šošková for inviting me to this amazing project; thanks to Peter Trmos for inspiring inspiration and all of participants for the great company and helpful discussions and thanks to Petra Rybanská for realization of embroidery.
Photo thanks Marko Horban!
